Word Search
A word search grid with five words hidden in it. Finding a word means holding its spelling in mind while scanning, which is useful practice for both recognising letter patterns and remembering how a word is actually written rather than how it sounds.
How to play
Read the word list, then drag across the letters in the grid to select a word. Words run horizontally, vertically and diagonally. The round ends when all five are found.
A tip for grown-ups
Ask your child to read each word out loud before searching for it. Saying the word first makes the letter pattern much easier to spot, and it turns the game into spelling practice rather than just pattern matching.
