Photosynthesis

1. Sunlight

   Leaves catch the energy in light. They are like tiny solar panels.

2. Water

   Roots soak up water from the soil, and it travels up the stem to the leaves.

3. Carbon dioxide

   Leaves take in CO₂ from the air through tiny pores.

4. Time to make food!

   With light, water and CO₂, the plant makes sugar to grow and releases oxygen into the air.
