Parts and germination

1. A seed

   Inside it keeps a tiny plant and its food. Water it and give it light.

2. It germinates

   With water, the seed swells and the root comes out, growing down to find water.

3. The stem sprouts

   The stem grows up towards the light and carries water from the root to the whole plant.

4. The leaves come out

   Leaves catch sunlight to make food.

5. A flower!

   The flower will make new seeds, and the cycle starts again.
